Third-party testing explained
Updated October 2026 · How we review
The FDA does not approve supplements for safety or effectiveness before they're sold. Independent testing helps confirm what's in the bottle.
- USP Verified: checks that the product contains the listed ingredients in the stated amounts, doesn't contain harmful levels of specified contaminants, and is made using good manufacturing practices.
- NSF certification: similar label and contaminant testing; "NSF Certified for Sport" also screens for substances banned in sports.
A testing seal confirms quality, not that a product works for any health purpose.
